How to Find the Best Digital Camera

Looking for a Good Digital Camera Can Be Perplexing.

Richard McDuff
Technological changes in Digital Cameras are developing fast. Every month there seems to be one more size in megapixels. A digital camera with more digital zoom capabilties . Better stereo sound capabilities. Yes, no matter which digital camera you buy, it will be obsolete in a couple of months. Digital cameras are now up to 12 megapixels. We currently own a 10 megapixel digital camera, and now I want a 12 megapixel digital camera. I am sure that the picture quality is marginal, it is just nice to have a bigger and better digital camera.

All right, there are definite elements to deliberate when searching for the "best digital camera":

MEGAPIXELS.
Among the most crucial characteristics of digital cameras to make it into the best digital camera category constitutes its megapixel size. The greater the megapixels the finer the actual photo will appear. A megapixel is equivalent to one million pixels. The resolution of your picture comprises the megapixel dimension of your camera. This implies that as you blow up the photo, you will get additional and finer detail in your photos.

ZOOM Capabilities.
All of the most recent digital cameras feature both digital and optical zoom. A higher optical zoom is always better than a higher digital zoom. Digital cameras are normally supplied with an optical zoom of between 3x to 10x. The greater the optical zoom, the higher it climbs up to the best digital camera category. This optical zoom quality is great for taking photos at a longer distance.

LCD SIZE.
The better digital cameras will always feature a bigger LCD to assist you in framing your subject area without being forced to squint at the viewfinder. This is great when critiquing your images, some of the better cameras enable you to touch up and edit your photo features with the LCD.

MEMORY CARD.
All of the time be sure that your memory card is the correct one for your digital camera. In that respect there are assorted types of memory cards available such as the xD, SD, Flash card etc. And these types of memory cards fit in certain types of digital cameras, double check with the salespeople to determine which type of memory card you need. For example none of my cameras will use anything larger than a 1G SD memory card. They will not access anything above 1 G in the camera. Memory cards are cheap now, so purchase as many as you want or need.

Actually, the best digital camera is the one that you will enjoy and use. Not the type that you'll just leave neglected in its box or after a few weeks of usage or so, up there in the attic.
