The holidays are here! In just a couple of days, you would be having a huge Thanksgiving dinner with your family and friends. Indeed, it is the season of indulgence as this season also marks one of shopping's biggest field days: Black Friday. Like in any other financial battles, Black Fridays require one to have some sort of plan or strategy when it comes to spending and planning which items to buy. While the recession may soon end, it does not necessarily mean that you should spend like crazy.

In the United States, Black Friday falls on the day after Thanksgiving which is on the fourth Thursday of November. The day after Thanksgiving got its name from an old-school accounting term. According to these accounting terms, "red" meant a negative situation for a business while "black" indicates profit. During Black Friday, retailers drop prices to rock bottom and open their stores as early as three in the morning. On the other hand, Cyber Monday, a fairly new event, refers to the Monday after Black Friday. During this event, online shopping sites do what retailers do: they drop prices allowing those who were unlucky during Black Friday to score some shopping deals of their own.

Here are some tips on how to find Black Friday and Cyber Monday Shopping Deals online.

1.Start with your list early.
Know what kind of items you are looking for and know which goes to whom. While Black Friday is usually used to get done with some Christmas gifts shopping, it could also function as a start of your home redecorating project. There are a lot of good deals, sure but you may fall into the temptation of buying something just because it's cheap. A list, therefore, keeps things in check.

2.Plan your budget.
This actually comes hand-in-hand with making a list. Allocate amounts for gifts, personal purchases, and miscellaneous items. By having a ceiling price to how much you are going to spend during the shopping spree days, you are less likely to burn a hole in your pocket.

3.Get to know items before the sale even begins.
Scout for the items you want to buy. Before Black Friday or Cyber Monday even draws near, look for product reviews so you don't end up buying something that has poor quality.

4.Keep your eyes and ears open for items on sale.
Don't assume that everything is being sold at a discounted price. Check out the list of items on sale or are being sold at a discounted price.

5.Have a plan AND a buddy
Black Fridays are one of the most intense shopping experiences ever. With crowds coming in by the hundreds, you need a pretty good battle plan to get the items that you want. Stores usually have a limited amount of stocks on sale so you have to grab the item you want as soon as you see it. With a buddy, you have an extra pair of eyes and hands to help you get the stuff you want.

6.Keep your head.
Just because everyone else is in a shopping frenzy does not mean that you have to join the fray. If you have a shirt temper, you may want to shop on Cyber Monday instead of Black Friday where you have to fight off crowds and wade through traffic.
