How to Find a Business Bank Account That's Right for You

Finding a Business Bank Account

L J Pearce
There are lots of business bank accounts out there on the marketplace so how do you know which one will suit you, your business and your needs?

Below is a bit of information, some tips and some guidance as to how you can find a business bank account that's right for you.

1. First off find out which banks are currently offering business bank accounts, once you have done this narrow the list down by finding out which bank has a branch near or close to you - as if you have a question or query you don't want to be travelling for miles to get to your nearest branch.

2. Secondly write down what you want from a bank account, for example do you need free start up advice, do you need a credit card, cheque book, overdraft facilities and so on. Once you have written out your list then find out what each account offers you and compare them to see which bank suits your needs so far BUT don't rule out the others yet!

This is because now that you know what the banks are offering you can play them off against one another, by this I mean let each know what others are offering you and with a bit of luck they should match it - if not better it!

3. Thirdly now that you have a very very short list of potential business bank accounts, its time to do the really boring part and read through the charges and terms and conditions. Its always best to do this so that you can compare who offers you the best deal both in the short term and long term, for example some banks charge for receiving funds after the introductory period has warn off so beware of this.

Remember you can always change your business bank account, so if you choose a bank account tomorrow who perhaps you aren't happy with in 12 months time then change and get a better deal, or arrange a meeting with the bank manager to try and get a better deal out of them, ideally equal if not better than what there competitors are offering.

I hope you have found this article both useful and helpful.
