How to Find a Company that Cleans Industrial Pipes

Unless you clean industrial pipes for a living, are familiar with the sewage system of the complex in need of cleaning, or have experience doing this type of work on a large scale, it really isn't recommended that you clean industrial pipes on your own. It is often a complicated process that requires special machinery not usually found in average home repair stores. Also, there's a chance of damaging the pipes if you aren't familiar with the equipment you're using. Thankfully, finding a company that specializes in cleaning industrial pipes isn't very difficult thanks to the the Internet. Here are some recommendations for finding an industrial pipe cleaning company that meets all of your needs.

1. Determine what kind of scales, coatings, or materials need to be removed from your industrial pipes. The company will sometimes need to know this in advance. Common problems include corrosion, crude oil deposits, calcium carbonate, water scale, mineral deposits, sand and other settlements, and crystallized sugar deposits.

2. Narrow your search to companies in your immediate area, as you don't want to pay extra for services located out of state.

3. Speak to customer service representatives from each company, making sure they have the equipment to service the specific needs of your industrial pipes. For example, one company may not deal with concrete pipes, which may be what you have. If you do, you will need to zero in on companies that offer services like Magnesium Hydroxide spraying, which controls odor and corrosion in concrete pipes.

4. Do a search of the company on the Better Business Bureau's website. Unfortunately, it is not unusual to find complaints against companies that perform large, contract commercial jobs such as these. Make sure the company you choose has a clean record with the BBB.

5. Read any customer testimonials you can get your hands on. The company is required to feature them on their website, whether they're good or bad and they can give you an idea of the experience you're in store for.

Tips

Smaller companies may not have websites, which means you don't have access to their company information or customer testimonials. There are chain pipe cleaners located all over the country and those may be your best bet.
Things to Avoid

Never agree or enter into a contract with an industrial pipe cleaning company without first having an estimate done. That way, you have an idea of what the job should cost and when you're being ripped off.
