Step one in finding a dentist is to talk to the people you know in the area in which you live. Word of mouth is a terrific way to find reputable businesses of any kind and friends and family, and even co-workers, will be able to give you much needed info on dentists, including actual reviews of their own experiences. If a friend has had a bad experience, or even a good one, they will be happy to share it with you and get you pointed in the right direction.
Step two, go through the yellow pages. Find the dentists in your area and give them a call. Ask all of the question you have. Do they use gas, do they work on children, do they have an Oral Surgeon on staff? These are questions I would ask (other than the children one) as I am afraid of needles and I have some wisdom teeth that need to be cut out. If you are only wanting some quick work and not a regular dental visit you will need to do some research also. Most dentists want you to come in for a cleaning or a consultation before they do any extractions or anything. There are a few out there that do emergency work though. Never be afraid to pick up the phone and make a call to find out if someones does what you are looking for.
Another step you can take in your search for the right dentist is to do some online research. These days everyone is online and you can find anything your heart desires. There are websites that give ratings on the things we need and there are websites with patient/client/customer reviews. One good website to find dentists in your area is www.1800dentist.com. You can search by zip code and what you need done, whether it is as simple as a cleaning or as difficult as a root canal. They also have wonderful articles and tips from the professionals. There are other great sites too, just Google "find a dentist" and you will have everything you need to get your dental care taken care of!
