How to Find Effective Niche Keywords

Kelly Fleming
Picking the right niche keywords will decide how well your site will do and if you will even make any money at all. For some people this process can take awhile to master while others get the hang of it right away. If you are looking to make money like most people from their site it is important to spend time researching keywords.

Google Keyword Tool

This is by far my favorite program to use. You can enter the keyword or phrase, and then put in the captcha code. This will be you basically how many times this keyword has been searched for in a month. This has other features also: Match feature, which are, broad, phrase, exact, and negative.

There is an option to choose what columns to display that show the volume trends and the average CPC. I like when a CPC at least shows $1.00 this is an average amount that someone will pay when their ads are clicked. Search under phrase and try to get at least 60,000 global searches for the month. This is a higher search rating, but it can make you more money because there are more people searching for this.

Micro Niche Finder (MNF)

This is a wonderful program that can actually do almost all of the leg work for you. All you have to do is type in your keyword(s) and it can pull up everything you need to know; the CPC, the number of people searching for this every month, and the number of competing sites that use this keyword. This tool will cut down on the amount of time you actually use searching for the keyword. The only downside to this software is that it costs money. If you are constantly setting up websites, then this will actually be a good tool to use.

There are numerous programs out there that I have not mentioned. Some of them you have to buy and some of them are free. The ones I talked about are my favorites and they get the job done perfectly for me. The hardest part is finding the right tool that will fit your needs. Niche keyword research is extremely important to do and get it right, or you will just be wasting your hard earned money on domain names that will never generate any traffic.
