How to Find God in Turbulent Times

Robb Weigel
Does God exist? This is the question of the ages. Atop the Bestseller list stands 3 atheist books--The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, God is not Great by Christopher Hitchens, and Letter to A Christian Nation. These are all atheist books. As a former Christian priest-in-training, then agnostic, then atheist, then deist, and now practicing Christian, I understand and appreciate everyone's views on the existence of God. google_protectAndRun("ads_core.google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad); Step 1) Look into nature. See it's unbelievable complexity and mechanical order. See it's incredible design. I'm sorry--the argument that nature came to its fruition haphazardly no longer has any merit...with me.

Step 2) Don't let the particular failings of each religious tradition destroy your ability to see the bigger picture--don't throw the baby out with the bath water. All the religious organizations are designed to bring you into a closer union with God....period.

Step 3) Talk to God. Ask him to show Himself/Itself/Herself to you. Did God show Himself to you? Did God not show Himself to you? What does this showing or not showing really imply about the existence of a Supreme Being? Spend some serious time and thought on these matters.

Step 4) Realize the absolute limitation of atheism. Atheism just can not explain how everything was put in motion and how everything came into being. Without a first uncaused cause, there would be no reality--there would be nothing. Atheists can not explain this--I know this for a fact. I used to be one.
