How to Find Happiness in Stressful Times

During these very turbulent times, many people question whether it is possible to be happy. With so much stress and financial difficulty, is there any way to find happiness? I personally believe that there is. Here are four of my personal tactics to finding happiness.

Pray

If you are a Christian, finding happiness is only a prayer away. Pray to God about what you need in life and what is your purpose here on Earth. I assure you that you will get an answer from Him in some form. Pray every day and especially during bad times because if you do, no matter the situation, you will find some sort of internal happiness that cannot be taken away.

Talk to friends

Whenever I am down and out, I see that talking to friends really does help me. It is especially helpful when I talk to someone who feels the same way. In these stressful times, it is very easy to find someone who is having the same feelings. Also, interact with people who help boost your happiness. Do not have conversations with people who are going to bring you down mentally and cause further stress. Feeling this way is the very last thing that you need. Find that special person to talk to who will help you through these rough times and bring about happiness in your life.

Write in a diary

Whenever I am stressed or depressed, I write in a diary. Even when I am not depressed, writing in a diary helps me to get out my feelings if nobody else is willing to listen or if I would rather keep them private. The more you write, the more you will begin to feel a spark of hope deep inside of you. You will eventually be able to look back and laugh at some of the things that you wrote. You will also be able to appreciate the things that you have been through.

Focus on the present

Many people are so focused on the past and what has happened to them. Do not focus on these things! Focus on the person that you are now and where you are headed! If you concentrate more on the future and set goals for yourself, you will begin to see these goals become a reality and your life will be changed for the better. You will begin to be a much happier person.

Learn these four steps, memorize them, and incorporate it into your daily life. If you stick to it, you will experience happiness that no one is able to steal from you.
