I think the biggest tool in my tool box of ideas is being open minded. I do daily read many of the new submissions, news submissions, and undiscovered submissions that catch my eye on the AC homepage. The idea may come to me that the topic is similar to something in my life's journey that I could share about.
I do read a book or two a month. This sometimes can inspire me to look at a different idea that has left an imprint in my heart. This happens in everyone's life journey. It doesn't matter if it's a speaker at a benefit dinner or someone commenting at an AA discussion meeting. the inspiration is there for all to hear and act upon.
To give you a few examples My last article "Dear Santa" was inspired by my re-reading my submission "The Legend of Bubba Clause" and an e-mail from a friend that was discussing the lack of leadership by example we currently have in both houses of congress.
The article "Stop Bank of America Now' was also inspired by an e-mail that pushed my buttons about illegal immigrates. I have strong opinions about this issue and to hear about this travesty just set the endorphins racing through my mind. I guess you might call it Divine inspiration of sorts.
"The Challenge of Owning a Cat" was inspired by my Queen Goddess. She claims since I wrote about my girlfriend "I have a Strawberry Blond Girlfriend" I need to write about her cat. The cat and I have been challenged to git along fer over ten years but when Mom's happy the whole world is happy.
God has blessed me with an open mind and an open heart most days. I mean there are days when I don't listen but that too is improving. There are days when I'm frustrated by the AC system but that too can be an inspiration for an upcoming article. There are days when the drains are plugged, the bearings in my car are shot, and the dog just got sick on my freshly washed sheets and blankets. This too can be an inspiration if I am open minded enough to listen to the Divine inspiration.
I've just read a pamphlet "Acceptance is the answer to all my problems"that I mus tread several times more but it has something to share too. Perhaps this will be the article that gets me to the AC Showcase. Just for today I'm gonna keep writing, reading, and listening for new inspiration. I know it's all Divine inspiration.
