How to Find More Time

Logan Banner
Life is very busy and no matter who you are it seems like time just flies. We would all love to have more time to do things that we need to do, but it seems like that the minutes just slip away from us. It also seems like some people tend to get a lot done, with much busier schedules than you have. How do they do it? What is there secret? In this article, I want to explain to you how you can get more done, using the same time that everyone else has. Let's begin.

One thing that you have to realize is that everyone has the same amount of time. Everyone has 24 hours to do what ever you need to do. The trick to getting more done is to find out what to do with the time. Here are some simple steps you can follow so that you can have more time on you hands.

Plan Your Day

The very first thing that you should do if you want to have control of your time is that you need to plan your days the night before. Most people have no idea what they are going to do for the day, so most of their time is wasted because that just go where the wind takes them. If you really want to have control over your time and your life, you need to plan your time. Every hour should have a name with something that you are doing. I don't care if you plan on taking a nap for an hour; make sure you are writing it down on paper. You should budget your time like you budget your money. Your time is very valuable. That is way employers are willing to pay you for it. So the very first thing you need to do is plan your day.

Cut Wasted Time

We love to say that we just don't have the time to do certain things, but if you actually sit and take inventory of what you are doing at a given moment, you will see that you have more time than you actually think you have. The key to getting control of your time is to cut wasted time. Wasted time is any time that is not producing a desired result. This can be surfing the Internet, watching TV, or just sleeping to much. Cutting out wasted time can help you get a lot of things done during the day. For example, instead of watching your favorite sitcom for 2 hours, go ahead and work on that special project that you have been trying to do or get your house clean. You can get a lot done in 2 hours if you just focused your energy on doing so.

Do not Procrastinate

One of the biggest killers of time is procrastination. There are some things that you know you should be doing this very instant, but you just put it off. When you do this, you pile up much more work for yourself. Here is an example. Let's say you've just finished eating dinner, but instead of washing the dishes instantly, you decide to let them go ahead and pile up. What would have taken you a couple of minutes to do, is now taking you a couple of hours because you decided to put it off. Do tasks as soon as possible and it will save you a lot of time.

There you have it. Follow this tips and they will help you have more control over you time.
