How to Find Music for Hanukkah On-line

Finding music to celebrate the Christmas season is easy. In fact it is hard to escape the displays that appear as soon as the Halloween candy is removed from the shelf. Finding Hanukkah music has not been so easy. More and more is becoming available on the internet. Some is even free. Other song and music collections do have a fee for downloading but most lyrics are available at no cost.

Chabad.org has an extensive collection of Hanukkah songs, music and lyrics available. You do not need to be a site member to enjoy what they have to offer. There is no cost involved but donations to the site are welcome. In addition to Hanukkah songs they also have audio classes available.

Blessings for the Menorah can be found at: http://www.chabad.org/multimedia/media_cdo/aid/797117/jewish/Blessings-for-Menorah.htm This also includes lyrics in both Hebrew and English. When you go to this link you will be presented with other choices of related music. There is also a section available entitled, Chanukah's Greatest Hits.

Songsforteaching.com:

Songs for teaching has both Hanukkah songs and music available. You can download individual songs, complete CD's and even books. There are charges for each download. The lyrics for the songs are available in English for free on each songs web page and you are allowed to listen to the music for free on the site. The music will be downloaded to your computer in MP3 format and you can then burn it to your own CD. If you prefer not to download the site also sells music in regular CD format. The Holiday Spot:

A collection of 34 Hanukkah songs are available as a free download from: http://www.theholidayspot.com/hanukkah/music.htm. They are downloaded in WinZip format so be sure to have the appropriate program to unzip your file. This site also has music lyrics available for free as well.

Songs in the key of Hanukkah:

Erran Baron Cohen has a site available through water tower music and songs can be downloaded with iTunes. This collection was released in November of 2008. It is a re-working of older songs and original new tracks. Not only are the songs sung in English and Hebrew they are also in Ladino, a Judaeo-Spanish mix.
