When fall first appears, your eye moves to the new boots on display in your favorite store. Nothing is more frustrating than finding that perfect pair, only to discover that the boots do not fit. With fuller calves, you have problems zipping the boots closed, while skinnier have the problem of boots being too large. No matter what size your feet, calves or legs are, find the perfect pair of boots.
Fuller Calves
Shopping for boots when you have fuller or thicker calves is a pain. The boots either fit too tight and make you lose circulation, or the boots do not fit at all. Look for boots that have more give and take, such as boots with hidden elastic panels. The elastic panels stretch, making the boots fit your calves. Lace-up boots provide more give because you can adjust the laces, widening the boot. Boots made from stretchy suede or leather are another option.
Shorter Legs
When you have short legs, boots have a tendency of making you look shorter and squatter. The boot cuts your leg off at an unflattering angle, which changes the entire shape of your leg. Choose ankle boots or boots that stop just above your ankle. Pair the boots with tights in a similar color. The matching colors make your legs look longer. Boots with a side zipper or decorative accents along the top of the boot cut off the boots, which keeps your legs from looking short.
Skinny Legs
Elastic boots are often a no-no for women with skinny legs. If the elastic is larger than your calves, the boots create a gap between the fabric and your legs. Instead, find boots that fit your legs like a glove. Soft leather or suede boots mold to the exact shape of your legs for a perfect fit. Choose slim-fit or slim-cut boots that hug you like a second skin. Unique details like multiple colors, zippers, or ruffles give the illusion of curvier legs.
Wide Widths
If you typically wear a wide-width, don't worry because you can easily find the perfect boots. Pick boots with a rounded shape that gives the illusion of slimmer feet. A pointy-toed boot draws the eye down to your feet and can actually make the feet appear bigger. Pick streamlined designs without fussy or large details. Even boots with a slouched design can make you feet look bigger. Choose boots with a skinny or slim heel, which makes your feet appear smaller.
