How to Find Your Perfect Shade of Lipstick

BS
For most women, lipstick is a part of their daily makeup. Applied in the morning, and freshened up throughout the resrt of the day. Each woman probably has a couple of different shades of lipsticks, one she'll wear during the day, one at night, one for special occasions, each woman is different, but most have at least two different shades. Once you have found that perfect shade of lipstick, it's easy, the trick is finding that perfect shade. The odds are that you'll have to go through a few shades to find the right one for you, but if you're looking in the wrong place, it will take much longer. Here are some tips to help you find that perfect shade of lipstick.

Don't match your lipstick with your clothes
This is a pretty common mistake, and it seems like it would be a logical thing to do, but don't! Matching your shade of lipstick to your clothes could turn out completely disastrous. Your lipstick is supposed to compliment your skin and draw attention to your lips, it has absolutely nothing to do with your clothing choice. It is possible that your lipstick will match your outfit once in a while, but don't do this on purpose.

Find out if cool or warm lipstick shades look best on you
When it comes to lipstick, it's simple, there are two different types. Cool shades and warm shades, one of these will look best on you, very rarely do women find that both look good on them. Finding out which one is right for you is very simple. Get some makeup, find some that is orangish and another that is either a pink or light purple. Take the orange and apply is to your cheek, take the pink or purple and apply it to the other cheek. Look in the mirror, you will see that one of these colors doesn't look "right" on you. If orange looks good, it means warm shades will be best for you. If the purple or pink looks better, stick with the cool shades.

Figure out which shades are cool and which are warm
Knowing which shades of lipstick looks best on you will do nothing for you if you don't know which colors are included in the warm category and in the cool category. Warm shades of lipstick are those like coral, orange, peach, brown, taupe, amber, and similar colors. Cool shades of lipstick are those similar to plum, crimson, mulberry, pink, and others. If you are unsure about the shade of lipstick you are looking at, you can ask the person working at the makeup counter, look on the Internet, or look in some magazines.

Take into consideration the whiteness of your teeth
Sometimes your teeth may not be as white as you wish they were, and the wrong kind of lipstick can make that problem seem a lot worse. Warm colors will make your teeth seem more white, cool colors will do the opposite. If you have yellow teeth and find that the cool shades look best on you, just stay away from the brightest lipstick shades such as coral and orange.

Thank you for the tips. I have always wondered how people figured out if they are 'warm' or 'cool' colors. You made it so simple to figure out. Thanks.
