How to Find Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes in Tennessee

The arrival of fall means it is time find pumpkin patches and corn mazes in East Tennessee. These become more popular every year with good reason. My family always enjoys it when we visit corn mazes and pumpkin patches. Mazes aren't just a place to get lost. They are a place to build family memories.

Every year new locations are being added in East Tennessee. If pumpkin patches weren't in your area last fall that may have changed. They may be part of a farmers market, farm or as a charity fundraiser.

We had a hard time finding one the first year that we went to a patch. Their popularity was just beginning to catch on. We've learned a few things since then. Using our tips will help you find pumpkin patches and corn mazes in Tennessee.

Since so many of us are on the internet these days it makes perfect sense to check the internet. Visitors should always call ahead to verify information found online. Information on hours, admission or other details can and does change. Sometimes farms offer special days senior citizens, students or haunted corn mazes. Calling ahead is the best way to find out.

One of these websites that have helped me the most is operated by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. It's called Pick TN Products. This site has a list of networked farms. These tend to be your larger farms. Families can spend a day or an afternoon at any one of the locations listed on this website. Most of the listed locations have mazes, fall produce and d©cor, hay rides and other fall activities.

Pumpkin Patches and More.org website also has a list of pumpkin patches and corn mazes in East Tennessee. Farms have been submitted by users and includes both large or small farms. The website includes links to each pumpkin patch or corn maze listed. Some of these Tennessee locations are perfect for families that have limited time in a day. The site also has recipes, information on canning and a crop availability calendar.

Our local newspaper is another source of information on pumpkin patches and corn mazes in East Tennessee. This is probably the best way to find small pumpkin patches that sponsored by churches or nonprofit organizations or to discover haunted corn mazes. The smaller patches are not usually connected with large farms but can still be a fun place to buy pumpkins.

Another place to find out about corn mazes and pumpkin patches is the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. They can tell you about the many locations throughout the state and about farms that have haunted corn mazes.

Families can plan to spend an hour or an afternoon at a large corn maze or pumpkin patch in East Tennessee. Allow extra time to visit haunted corn mazes or to enjoy other special events. Small locations are perfect for shorter visits and depend on the size maze or patch and any other special activities that may be going on.

    There is one in Ocoee, about 4 miles from here on highway 64. Mayfield Dairy in Athens has one on CR 307.
