If you have full and thick lips, avoid using colors that have flesh tones. Also, avoid using lipsticks that have a shimmering effect. These colors can make your entire face washed out and can further enhance your lush lips. Choose blush to deep colors to make your lips look natural and healthy. Always keep lips soft by using lip balms to maintain just the right moisture. Women with full lips are lucky because these kinds of lips can be sexy when paired with the right lip colors.
If you have thin lips, avoid using dark and matte shades and textures. These colors can make your lips look even thinner. Having thin lips makes one look old. Enhance your lips by using pink and peach shades to make your mouth look juicy and at the same time add fullness to your lips. High shine glosses are also best for thin lips for it creates an illusion of fullness. Try using a natural colored lip liner just outside your natural lip line and fill in with gloss to create the illusion of plumper and fuller lips.
If you have small lips, avoid lipsticks that have thick or matte formulas. These types of lip formulas can make your lips much smaller. Tinted balms and caramel glosses are the way to go. These glossy formulas can blur the actual lip line, which creates a full and bigger look for your lips. In addition, try to highlight your eyes by using mascara to create a balanced look.
If you have uneven lips, stay away from deep colors. Apply lip-gloss on your lower lips only. Use a different coat of lipstick on your upper lips to make your mouth look even. Use a pinkish brown lip liner and trace your lips extending the liner just outside your upper lip only. Fill your lips with liner and then apply your favorite lip color.
In addition to choosing the right lipstick for you, choose colors that are two shades darker than your natural lip color. This is perfect enough for daytime use. In the evening, polish your look by adding mascara, shimmer, and eye shadow. Always use lip balms with SPF (Sun Protection Factor) and try to re-apply lip balm at least every two hours to prevent lips from drying and keep the moisture in.
If you have used a longwearing lipstick and experience having a hard time removing it, try to use makeup remover. If it still does not work, just use clear balm on your lips, and let the color come off on its own.
Knowing what kind of lips you have will now make your lipstick shopping easier. So, go and get the right lipstick color for you and flaunt those gorgeous lips.
