To begin with you will want to determine when exactly you are going to be taking your ski vacation. You will want to avoid busy times of the year. Many ski resorts are very crowded around Christmas time so instead of heading out during this time of year try mid January to early February. This is a great way to take advantage of there being less crowds as well as cheaper prices. Prices are automatically going to be higher during the busy season.
Next you will want to look at special websites that are dedicated just to those who are looking for discounts on lodging. You can check out hotels.com or other types of travel websites that will be able to tell you about specials there are on rooms. Many are surprised at what great deals they are able to get by looking at these websites. When someone cancels their reservations these rooms are put on the websites and available for lower prices. Another great site to take advantage of deals like these is Expedia.com. Just type in the town and resort type you are looking for and see the results pop up.
Another great tip for finding discounts on ski resorts are to look at smaller resorts that are not so popular. There are some ski resorts that charge large amounts to stay there because they have a trendy status. Instead, look for the more cozy, smaller resorts that are not so well known. Some of these ski resorts charge almost half of what the more popular resorts would charge and provide excellent customer service and the same amenities.
Last but not least ask the ski resort you are interested in if they offer any special discounts. Some ski resorts offer discounts for people who are in the military, employees of certain companies or people who belong to certain organizations. You may have to provide special documentation but some of these discounts can save 35 percent or more off the regular price of staying at the resort.
