How to Find Your True Passion

C.D. Crowder
How exactly can you find your true passion? Passions should be something you love to do, no matter what. Passions are not about doing what someone else wants, or what you think is best for you. Passions are about what you want and love to do.

-Talk to your friends and family.

Spend some time learning about yourself when those who know you best. Ask them what they believe makes you happiest. Talk to them about what their passions are. This helps to give you an idea of what might make you happy. Don't be afraid to discuss your passions with them. They can help to realize what you are most passionate about. They are also your support when actually living your passion.

-Talk to a counselor.

Counselors are used to helping people find what they want in life. They know the right questions to ask to help you learn more about yourself. Counselors are available at schools to help students discover their passions early in life. Counselors are also available for adults. Sometimes talking to someone outside your normal circle of friends and family gives you a better perspective on your life.

-Do some soul searching.

What are your hobbies? What do you love to do more than anything? What are your interests? Take some time to yourself to figure out who you are and what you want. What do you see yourself doing in five or ten years? Make a list of questions about your life. Answering these questions will help you find your true passion.

-Research and try new things.

If you haven't found your true passion, then you need to try new things. Watch TV, surf the web, and talk to friends and family to discover possible interests. When something strikes you just right, take the time to try it. You never know when you might find your passion. Don't discount interests you've always had, but never bothered to pursue. Trying new things will lead you to your true passion.

-Let go of your fears.

Fears often hold you back from discovering your true passion. For instance, many singers are afraid of being in front of crowds. They may miss out on living their passion if they don't overcome their fear. Think about your fears. What are you missing out on? By analyzing your fears, you could find your true passion hiding there in the corner.

You are the only one that can find your true passion. Remember that your passion will make you happy and be something you enjoy. It is something that you will want to do, not because you have to, but because you truly want to do it. You're hobbies, interests, and dreams will lead you to your true passion if you're willing to follow your heart.
