Unclaimed Funds Are Waiting to Be Claimed. Will You Claim Yours?

It seems like everyone is looking to increase their income these days. Many people are starting to realize that they could have unclaimed funds or property. With government offices now putting all their data online, you will be able to do your searches quickly and easily. You can even search for unclaimed money for family members and friends, though you have to be the person or an heir to the person if you decide to make a claim for the funds.

First, NEVER ever pay to find unclaimed funds online. You can easily do this search yourself. Even making a claim for the funds is easy to do. You might have to come up with a certified death certificate or other proof of identity but they give you time to collect the documents and turn them in.

If you do find that you need a certified death certificate or certified birth certificate you can contact the county of the death or birth, fill out the request form, and pay the small fee. They will then mail you the certificate and then you can send it in with your claim.

Much of the unclaimed funds comes from utility company deposits that people forget they have when they relocate. You might also find that you never received that final paycheck from your old employer or possibly your tax refund check was returned to sender and you never noticed.

If you have unusual names then remember to also search with by reversing your name. Put your first name as your last name in the search box. I found unclaimed funds in my father's name 15 years after his death by doing this. I would have never found it otherwise.

The largest free search site is www.unclaimed.org . It is super simple to use. A map of the United States pops up and you just click on the states where you have lived or your family has lived and follow the search directions. It is so easy you will find yourself doing the search for your friends too. I found money for 3 of my friends by doing this!

Some people think it is a gimmick or a scam but I can attest that it is neither. I have actually recovered over $2500 in unclaimed funds under my dad's name. My parents divorced when I was little and he lived in a few other states and finally died by himself in Florida. I found a small life insurance policy that no one knew he had and recovered the funds and shared it with my brother.

Finding international funds looks to be much harder to do, though I have not put much effort into it yet. Not every government is as forthcoming with information as ours is. Give it a try and see if you can find unclaimed funds too!
