How to Have a Firecrackin' 4th of July Party

Juliegirl
The 4th of July is right around the corner. The day we celebrate our independence. The day we adopted the Declaration of Independence back in 1776. On this day people across America celebrate and enjoy the day with their families. There are many awesome ways you can celebrate this great holiday. From food to fun this article will give you plenty of ideas.

Food

What would a party be without delicious food? The most popular way to cook on the 4th of July is grilling. Grilling is a summertime favorite. Grilled chicken, bratwurst, hot dogs, hamburgers, and even steaks are great ideas for your 4th of July cookout. If you are having a large party with several guest you could consider having a potluck with each guest bringing their favorite dish. You could also think about catering if that is something you could do. Desserts are also a must at your 4th of July party. Homemade ice cream is delicious and a great idea to serve your guests. You could even have ice cream cones for the kids. A quick and easy dessert that I have made for a 4th of July party is a flag cake. I use a white cake mix and bake it as directed. Top with cool whip, blueberries and strawberries or raspberries to make a flag. It is so easy and so yummy! A fun way to serve drinks is to serve them in a aluminum tub with ice. It keeps the drinks cold and looks good too!

Games

Games are always fun at a party. Some fun summertime games are horseshoes, volleyball, and swimming. Depending on your guests, you could get a scavenger hunt together or even get a baseball game going. At night you could all go and check out a local fireworks display. You can even get some fireworks to do at your cookout.

Location

The location of your party is something important to consider. There are many choices when it comes to where to have your party. Most folks have parties at their home in the backyard, but there are many other places you can have it. You can have your party at a lake or swimming pool. A park or even a waterpark. The ideas are endless on where to have your 4th of July.

Decorations

Decorations are a fun part of planning your 4th of July party. The most obvious, and most important in my opinion, decorating item for your party is the American flag. You can purchase small American flags that make great driveway decorations and great for a deck. The bigger American flags are great to display in your yard. You can find red, white and blue tablecloths to decorate your tables at your local store. You can use solid colors or a combination of the colors. You can also find paper plates, cups and plasticware to match. I have found that if you buy 4th of July theme partyware it is more expensive. The solid colors are usually cheaper. You could get a pack of all three colors. Decorating for your 4th of July party can be as simple or more in detail as you like, depending on your taste. Balloons are a fun and festive addition to your 4th of July party décor. Have some tiki torches around for ambiance and soft lighting when evening arrives.Your 4th of July party can be fun and exciting and all done on a budget.
