Metal buckets
Paint brush
Glue gun and glue sticks

Glitter
Paint roller
Paint tray
Faux beach-related items

Paint tape
Tarp
Directions:
1. Wash the wall that you will be turning into the beach mural. Put paint tape around the top, bottom and edges of the wall. Place a tarp on the floor.
2. Pour some white paint in the paint tray. Using the paint roller, paint the wall that will have the beach mural white. Let dry. If there are bare spots, give the walls a second coat. Let dry. Clean roller and tray.
3. Place a piece of paint tape across the middle of the wall. Pour some blue paint in the paint tray. Using the paint roller, and starting at the bottom of the wall, paint half of the wall up to the paint tape blue. Let dry. Remove the paint tape. Using a paint brush, paint waves going across the middle of the wall and above where you stopped painting the blue. Take the paint brush and go up at an angle to a point at the top, then back down. When going down with the paint brush, don't make a straight line, curve the line slightly outward. Repeat the wave pattern across the middle of the wall. If you have trouble drawing waves freehand, you could stencil the waves, fish or any beach related item on the wall. How ornate the beach wall is, will be according your taste. I usually just do waves and heavily decorate the fishing net.
4. Lay the fishing net flat on a tarp covered floor.
5. In a well ventilated room, spray glue on some of the seashells and starfish. Sprinkle each one with glitter. Gently shake each one to remove excess glitter. I like the look of plain and glitter beach items throughout the net, particularly if this is for a little girl's room.
6. Glue the seashells, starfish or any beach-related items evenly throughout the fishing net. Glue other beach items like faux fish or mermaids to the fishing net. The kids will have fun helping you with the placement of the beach items.
6. Carefully, hang the fishing net across the beach mural. If any of the seashells are loose, apply more glue to secure them.
7. Another cute look is to hang small, light beach buckets with curtain hooks on the fishing net.
The website www.qualityshells.com offers shells, sand dollars, starfish, and other beach-related items needed to make the fishing net beach mural. Amazon offers fishing nets for $14.99.
