Have you ever had one of those mornings where you were getting dressed for work and your favorite outfit has one of those drawstrings that has to be strung through a microscopic little hole, and you accidentally pulled the string all the way out? You stuck there holding the drawstring in one hand and your outfit in the other. All that you can think of is how can I fix this? Well I have a simple solution for you! One that does not require dragging out the heavy sewing machine.
First thing you are going to want to do it take a deep breath and count to ten. This is the most important step of all. After you have blurted several obscenities, since today, of all days you are running late and the last thing you needed is for your outfit to fall apart. Have you counted to ten yet?
OK, on to the next step. Most everyone has one of those junk drawers. (Fingers crossed that hopefully you will.) You will need to find an ordinary safety pin. I know what you are probably thinking now, "This idiot thinks I am going to safety pin my outfit and take the chance of it falling completely off mid day." Well trust me, that is not it at all. Once you have your safety pin in hand we go on to step three.
Take your safety pin and pin it to your drawstring. Please be sure to fasten the safety pin, else you may end up pricking you finger and your not so good morning will just get worse. On top of that getting blood stains out of clothes is not my area of expertise. After you have fastened the safety pin to your drawstring, we move on to step four.
Insert the safety pin into the hole that your drawstring came out of. Push the safety pin in as far as you can, bunching the fabric together as well. When you can not push any farther, grab the safety pin through the fabric with you free hand. Straighten the bunched up fabric out and repeat the process until the safety pin comes out the hole in your clothing on the other side. Wah La! You are ready to go again.
This works great on children's clothes as well. If you have children like mine, they sometimes pull those drawstrings out on purpose just to see what they can tie up! Good luck on the rest of your day!
