Replace O-Rings in the Pressure Washer Nozzle Quick Connect at the End of the Wand or Lance
Once water that's under pressure finally makes it to the end of the gun wand or lance, it puts a lot pressure on the o-ring in the quick connect nozzle. This o-ring wears out faster than any other o-ring on the power washer system.
If you need to learn a quick method for getting out the old o-ring and replacing it with a new one, refer to this in-depth article, "How to Replace O-Rings in a Pressure Washer Quick Connect Nozzle."
The other place where pressure washer water leaks most occur is on the quick connect female plugs at the end of pressure washer hoses. These o-rings too get lots of pressure, deteriorating them, sometimes in a short period of time.
Replace Water Hose Gaskets at the Water Inlet and on Water Hoses to the Power Washer
While it sounds almost too simple to underscore, if the gasket in a water hose is missing or damaged so that it doesn't seat well, you need to replace it. More times than not, the water loss because of a missing or inoperable water hose gasket is going to be great enough to cause the pressure washer not to get enough. You need to fix the power washer leak, in this case the water hose to the pressure washer, even if the pressure washer is only a gallon or two gallons a minute.
Water leaks often from the water inlet on the power washer. Usually, this too is because a rubber gasket is missing or damaged, depending on if the water inlet is set up as a male or female inlet. Fix the leak here too, if you want to maximize water pressure and volume in the power washer.
How to Fix Power Washer Leaks: Pressure Washer Water Leaks (Conclusion)
There you have it in short form: How to fix power washer leaks and pressure washer water leaks-the most common. A pressure washer or power washer operates optimally if it doesn't have any water leaks. Fix power washer leaks wherever there's a pressure washer water leak. Remember, it's the quick connect at the end of the wand and the quick connect at the end of the pressure hose where the o-rings wear out the fastest. Regularly fix those quick connects, since the water leaks will come from them the most on a power washer.
