Laminate hardwood flooring is flooring that is designed to replicate the look of a real wood floor. Advantages of laminate flooring according to Mohawk Flooring is that laminates do not need to be polished or waxed. But laminate flooring like real wood floors is still susceptible to wear and tear scratches in the surface. Scratches can be filled in and covered when discovered.
Vacuum the floor area with the scratches to remove dust and debris.
Purchase a floor scratch repair pen that is marked as being specially designed for laminate floors. Make sure the color you choose matches your floor's coloring as closely as possible.
Wipe the scratch area with a soap and water mixture. Wait for the floor to dry up.
Shake the repair pen lightly and remove the cap.
Press the pen tip down lightly on one end of the scratch and move it slowly down the scratch filling in the scratch fully.
Use a lint free cloth to wipe away excess repair solution around the scratch. Reapply as needed.
Avoid getting the repair pen solution on the wood surrounding the scratch. Focus the point of the pen inside the scratch itself.
