How to Fix Xbox 360 Red Lights Error - Great Tips

In another article, we discussed the possibilities for what could be causing that god awful pain in the rear blinking red lights on your Xbox 360. In this article, we will get into it just a bit further by looking at other repair options for those who do not want to send off their precious system to Microsoft.

Sending your console to Microsoft may very well be the easiest solution to the problems that you are experiencing with you Xbox 360, but for some people this is not an option, either by choice or by financial reasoning. The truth is that even if you go through the trouble of sending it back and you have to pay for it to be fixed, you are not guaranteed that it will be fixed at all. So you are taking the chance that you just spent $150+ for it to come back with the same problems that it had when you shipped it.

One of the other options that you have is to find out what is going on with your Xbox 360 on your own. The best way to do this is to check the information that is available on the Internet. Since the web is a melting pot of information anyway, it can't hurt. Be wary, however, of those outrageously stupid home repair tips. Obviously the solution to a console that keep overheating is not to wrap it in towels and let it overheat some more. Try not to take too much stock in what some of these idiots have tried. Many have ruined their system completely, often making it completely useless and beyond repair.

There are also a few manuals available on the web that can give you step by step instructions in fixing your Xbox 360 on your own. Most of these manual have been written by people that are in the business of repairing game consoles and other electronics. You may even find a few video tutorials on the subject.

If you just don't want to risk the permanent damage that you can cause, go ahead and send it to Microsoft. You may have to pay a little bit, and wait a few weeks to get the console back, but at least you can feel confident in knowing that you didn't damage the system. Also, Microsoft can at least guarantee that your system will not come back any worse than it was when you sent it.
