Materials needed to freeze a beer 2 seconds:
- Two clear bottles of beer
- Clear beverage glass
- Freezer
- Table or other flat surface
NOTE - It is very important to use a clear bottle of beer for this bar trick. Canned beer will not work, and dark bottles will not produce the same dramatic effect as a clear bottle. With that said, let's continue with how to freeze a beer in 2 seconds.
Pre-freeze the beer - The secret to learning how to freeze a beer in 2 seconds is to pre-freeze the beer before guests arrive. To do this, place two bottles of beer in the freezer for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Do not remove the beer until just before guests arrive.
Set the scene - Because you only placed the beer in the freezer for a short time, NO ONE will know it has been pre-frozen as the liquid is still fluid. Set the scene for this bar trick by placing the two bottles of beer side by side and next to one clear beverage glass.
Show the beer to guests - Tell your guests that you're going to show them an amazing bar trick. Have them surround the table and tell them you're going to show them how to freeze a beer in 2 seconds.
Pour the beer. To prove that the beer is not already frozen, open one of the bottles and pour the beer. It will come out fluidly to demonstrate that the beer is not frozen.
Freeze the beer instantly - Now that you have everyone's attention, hold the beer that you poured in front of you, and firmly tap it on top with the other beer. Watch the beer freeze instantly before your eyes! You and your guests will watch the entire bottle ice up, which is why the clear bottles are so important.
Prove that the beer is frozen - Take the frozen beer and turn it upside down. Nothing will come out because the beer truly is frozen solid.
For best results, practice this bar trick a few times before you do it in front of other people. Once you get the hang of it, you'll find that it is very simple to do. Before you know it, you'll be amazing your friends by showing them how to freeze a beer in 2 seconds.
