How to Make a Frozen Buckeye Pie

Just like the Buckeye Candy

Bubba
It is becoming party time once again. One of my favorite memories was a frozen concoction my Mom made only for Holidays. I could not find that recipe but was inspired by one I saw recently. This "Frozen Buckeye Pie" has the basic flavors of the Buckeye candy and yet the ice cold novelty texture we all desire for a special meal... anytime of the year. I have noticed the biggest fans of this pie are Michigan Fans but that is reasonable since the Wolverine's favorite food is the Buckeye especially the candy variety. It's time to roll up our sleeves, take off our rings, wash our hands, and get cooking.

Frozen Buckeye Pie

Ingredients:

1 Cup Hot Fudge dessert topping divided (Hershey's)

1 Oreo pie crust

8 oz container of Whipped topping thawed and divided

¾ cup smooth peanut butter (Use crunchy if you desire chunks of nuts in pie)

1 Cup Half and Half

2 8oz size instant chocolate puffing (Fudge works if you can find it)

Single serving size Reese Pieces

Directions:

Stir ¼ cup fudge topping into whipped topping and set aside, Pour and spread 1/2 cup fudge topping into pie crust and set aside. In a large mixing bowl blend peanut butter and Half & Half, add pudding mixes and whip for 2-3 min. Your mixture will be thick. Fold in half of whipped topping mixture. Gently spread this over Fudge layer in pie crust. Spread remaining whipped topping mixture on top then drizzle remaining hot fudge topping over this layer, sprinkle Reese pieces over this.. Freeze uncovered 3 hours or overnight. Take out of the freezer when you sit down for supper.

Notes:

This pie can be habit forming so serve with care. The recommended serving size is cut in 10... I prefer it cut in quarters, served with a large mug of Columbian Coffee.

You might want to dip your knife in warm water before cutting this and after each cut.

If you take this to a potluck take the link to this article with you. Many will want this recipe after tasting it.

OK the recipe is now yours. Share it, Change it if you must, but most of all enjoy it. You deserve a little rich sweet dessert in your life today. Think of all the folks on the Titanic that skipped dessert for another day... It's even better if shared with a friend. Mizpah ;-}}>
