How to Fulfill New Year's Resolutions

Quitting Soda Made Easy

Jrebound
On January 1st, 2009, I made a promise to myself to quit my awful soda habit. Drinking soda was becoming an issue for me because I would drink at least four to five cans of Coca Cola or Sprite a day. I never really took new years resolutions seriously because I am actually a very healthy guy to begin with. I'm only 165 pounds with a BMI of 23 and I have a resting heart rate of 39. The reason why I decided to take my bad soda habit seriously was because of the long-term side effects it carried. One side effect that scared the hell out of me was diabetes. Even though I am nowhere near having such a disease, I was paranoid of it regardless.

Quitting habits such as soda was not easy task at all since most of the soft drinks I drank had caffeine in them. I am sure some of you out there know what I am talking about. In my case, soda became a necessity when while I was at work because without it, I would have trouble focusing. An excellent way to replace sodas from you diet would be by replacing it with ocean spray cranberry juice. This juice somehow helps me significantly because of the sweet taste. I noticed that soda became less and less craving prior to January 2nd because that is the date when I completely stopped drinking all types of soft drinks. Not only does cranberry juice quench your thirst quickly, it can also prevent kidney stones which is a major problem soft drinks can cause. It's really all about the fear of illnesses when it comes to executing resolutions quickly. It has been eleven months since I've had a soft drink and I've noticed several changes inside and outside my body. I've been working out for the last four years and I have cut my body fat percentage to eight percent within one year after dropping my soda habit. It is something I take great pride in and it has lead me to quit other bad habits such as eating lots of hot sauce.

In order to execute these resolutions you must learn to love yourself at all times because you will eventually have faith in yourself to quit. Think about your family, lifestyle, and attractiveness when you are faced with difficult obstacles.
