Easy to Make Candy Pops for the Kids

ANNE RUSH
Its always fun to create a memorable time for your holiday guests. Offering treats that make people smile, and that kids will love is one way to do that. These are some ideas that you use to add some flair to your holiday party.

Snowman lollipops

Here is what you'll need:

Large and small marshmallows

Chocolate sprinkles

Gummy fish

M&M candies

Wood skewers

Vanilla icing

First, put the large marshmallow on the skewer to make the snowman's body. Add the smaller marshmallow on top to create his head.

Second, using vanilla icing "glue" on the M&M on top of the head to create a hat.

Third, poke two eyeholes in the top marshmallow. Take a couple of sprinkles, dab the ends with icing and fit them inside the poked holes to create the eyes.

Next, poke a hole for a nose. Cut a thin slice of gummy fish to make a long nose. Dab in the icing to "glue" into place.

That's it, you've created a Snowman Lollipop!

Licorice Twirl Pops

Here is what You'll need:

Long shoelace red or any color licorice

Gumdrop candies

Wooden skewers

Gift wrap 1/8" wide ribbon

First roll a shoelace of licorice in a spiral creating a circle . Use the skewer to pierce through to create a lollipop.

Add a colorful gumdrop on the pointy end of the skewer.

Tie a bow at the bottom of the licorice circle and use scissors to curl it.

That's all it takes!

A great way to display all your skewered fun lollipops is to fill a bowl with granulated sugar and stand the free ends of the skewers in the sugar. This makes a fun and colorful centerpiece on the table.

Making these lollipops as a project with kids is also a fun idea. It's a wonderful way to have older children keep younger kids busy while you enjoy the party.
