How to Have Fun on a Rainy Day

Depending on where you live this time of the year can bring about the blues. Many areas begin experiencing lots of rain around this time of the year. In many cases the rain is much needed do to the extreme teamperatures many have experienced. However rainy days can often be the most depressing days people experience. Many people spend all day inside and often have real feelings of depression come over them. So how can you avoid the rainy day blues? Here are a few tips to beating these blues.

Rainy Days are great for reading a good book. Curl up on the couch and enjoy a book you've been dying to start reading. Find a nice bookstore to go to and spend the day in a good book. Many bookstores have coffee shops, so you can enjoy a nice treat and read at the same time. Find a friend to go with you and spend the day reading and hanging out together.

Rainy days are great for exercising. Make your way to the gym before or after work. The great thing about exercise is that it will help you feel better and it will help to battle depression. Exercise is a super way to jump start your day. You will feel good about what you are doing and that you are working toward your goal. You will find yourself forgetting about the rain and enjoying your day. If you can't go outside and move around do it indoors!

Find a great movie to watch. Since you can't get outside stay indoors and watch a good movie. You don't even have to leave your house to do this. Most cable and satellite companies have movies that you can order off the television. If not, make your way to the video store and pick up some new releases. Or spend the day at the movie theaters watching a new flick.

When all else fails use a rainy day to get some work done. There is almost always things around the house that need to get done. Whether it's winter cleaning or organizing, spend your time getting the house together. Or maybe you have some cleaning in your office that needs to get done. Cleaning will keep you moving and give you a goal to accomplish. You will feel good about what you've accomplished and you won't have time to be depressed about the rain.

Beating the rainy day blues isn't always easy. However you can get though this time. Keep yourself busy and find things to engage your mind. Find family and friends to do things with you and most importantly be active. The rainy day won't feel as bad. As a matter of fact you might even learn to like these days!
