How to Make Garden Candleholders

These beautiful, metallic candleholders will add instant beauty and magic to your garden. I usually make a border of them along my garden path in the winter months. Garden candleholders are very inexpensive to make so you can make many of them for very little effort or cost.

How to Make Garden Candleholders - Materials Needed

The first things you need to make garden candleholders are deep-sided foil pie pans, small foil pie pans and colored foil. These will make up the base of the garden candleholders.

The other materials you need to make garden candleholders are tea light candles with metal casing, green garden stakes, 1 inch flat-headed nails, epoxy resin glue, glass paints, a paintbrush, scissors, and a permanent marker.

How to Make Garden Candleholders - Step #1

The first step to make garden candleholders is to draw the outline of six rounded petals on the outside of a deep foil pie pan with the permanent marker. Cut the excess pieces off the top, making a flower-shaped candle holder.

Once you have the shape cut out, paint the flower inside and out a bright color of your choosing. You can mix colors or use more than one if you like. These are your garden candleholders so be creative. Allow the holder to dry completely.

The second step to make garden candleholders is to take a small pie pan and cover it with brightly covered foil. If you aren't able to find any colored foil, you can paint the small pie pan instead. Paint it to match or contrast the color you painted the deep foil pie pan.

The next step to make garden candleholders is to remove the metal case from a tea light candle. Glue the case into the bottom of small pie pan. Then, place the small pie pan inside the deep pie pan (the flower). Push a nail through the center of all three layers.

The final step to make garden candleholders is to push the point of the nail that's protruding from the bottom of the flower into the garden stake. Add glue to hold it firmly together. When the glue is dry, put the tea light candle in the center of the flower.

Now you've made your very own garden candle holders. Add them anywhere in your garden or yard for some magic. These look great if you light them at dusk, especially in the winter months when there isn't much to see in the garden.
