If you have never been to Gather.com before, now is the time to do it. With a lot of new members joining daily, it is truly a site that has so much to offer. Gather.com is a website in which you can publish articles, photos, videos, games, jokes, recipes, just about anything your heart can imagine. People then will comment on your articles, videos, photos, and such and you will earn points based off of the activity you do. Therefore, the more you participate, the more you will earn.
If you earn over 3000 points in one month, which is not hard to do, you will be considered for earning cash rather than gift cards. While the free gift cards are nice, not many will turn down the cash option if they have the opportunity. Gift cards that they offer are slim, though most people can find something that they like. They have places like Borders, Home Depot, and Brookstone. They are changing gift card options frequently, so if you are sticking to points and do not like what they offer, save them up till you see something you like.
Here are a few tips and suggestions I recommend you do to be successful at Gather.com. First of all, make lots of friends. You can browse through the articles and if you see something you like, click on it. It will show on the left hand column if you are connected to them or not, and if not, send a connection request. Making more friends is better because more people will be likely to read and comment on your things, and more comments means more points.
Join a ton of groups. Groups are helpful because the more you belong to, the more you can publish to. And, the more you publish to, the more your stuff will be seen and it all means more for you. I know some people who have joined, practically join every group just so that they can have more exposure. While this is true, make sure you are publishing your stuff to an appropriate group, group owners get upset if for instance you publish a joke about dogs in a group which has to do with flowers. Also you can create your own groups. If you have a group which has lots of members and lots of activities going on, you will earn lots of points.
You will not become rich off of Gather.com. But if you are like me and work off of multiple websites, this is a great place to add to your income online. If you like to write online, and need some critiques, Gather is also a great resource for this. There are tons of members online which will give you honest and helpful advice. This is another reason I like Gather. Nobody is ever the best, and it is always good to hear others opinions and advice. It is only going to improve your skills. Therefore, if you have never tried Gather before, I recommend you give it a try! It's free.
