How to Generate Traffic to Your Blog for Free

Osman
1. Forum Posting- Posting on Forums related to your blog topic will bring a surge of traffic to your site. Try to answer people's questions on the forum to establish yourself as an expert in the niche. The more questions you answer in a professional manner, the better acquainted with the members the forum, thus leading to even more traffic. Promote your blog but try not to sound like an advertisement.

2. Commenting- By commenting on the leading blogs in similar categories as yours, you not only generate traffic, but also gain important contacts with the blog creators and readers. This is important because your contacts might help get the top bloggers to write a guest post on your blog. Don't just post a link to your blog, start out by complimenting the blog, than mentioning that you are also starting a blog, and then post the link.

3. Pillar Content- Pillar content is a post, or series of posts, that are the highlight of your blog. They can be a collection of how to articles, free e-books, white paper reports, or just a regular post that your readers enjoy. Pillar content is most effective at generating traffic when it is published biweekly on weekends. This is the time when most people are online. Also, by establishing a publication date for the content, you will receive most of your traffic on these publication dates.

4. Q & A Sites- Browse through question and answer sites looking for questions related to you niche. Once you find a question, do some research to come up with an expert answer for the question. Make sure that the answer is well thought out and something that you would be proud of. After the answer, make sure to tell the questioner that they can find more answers and expert content at your site. Give them a link to your site. It might look like you have only gotten one more viewer, but people with the same problem that you answered might check that question for answers and discover your blog, effectively starting a flurry of visits to your blog.

5. Chat rooms / online clubs- The next time you see an online discussion in the works, join in on the conversation. Try staying on the chat room for a while, even after you post a link to your blog, to talk to people about your blog and its contents, this way they are interested I what you have to say and will make sure to visit your blog. You might also receive feedback on how to make your blog better or a guest post from one of the participants of the forum.
