Ghee Recipe
This is very simple recipe. You can make ghee from unsalted butter. You will need these things for making ghee. One large heavy saucepan, unsalted butter, mesh strainer.
First put the butter into the heavy bottom sauce pan over medium to high heat then butter will melt & boils its takes two to three minutes. After that reduce the heat setting & stir with spoon. Do not increase the heat setting or else it will boil. The butter will form a white foam on it. It will look bubble foam. Keep the heat on & stir well. If foam will change into golden brown then your ghee is ready. Final step, Pour the ghee into heat proof container such as metal or glass container using a mesh strainer. Brown milk solid will be remain on the bottom of saucepan. This whole method should take about six to seven minutes depend on heat setting. Always cook with caution( Do not go far away) If heat setting is too high it can boil & spread into your gas oven & this can be very dangerous.
Ghee can be used for Snacks , Appetizers and Sweets
Spread the melted ghee & salt on popped popcorn for better taste. This is very good recipe for peanuts & other nuts in Indian cuisine. Fry some peanuts & cashews in ghee then sprinkle with salt & red pepper. Saute garlic in ghee. It is also used for spreading on bagels, hot breads & crackers. Instead of butter you can use ghee for many recipes. Make a French-style omelet with ghee; it's firm Ghee can added in soup for better taste, add some ghee in soup & stir it. In India they add some ghee into hot lentil soup (Indian daal) & vegetables, rice, Its increase the flavors of the food. In Indian cuisine they used ghee for making so many sweets.
Ghee Nutrition and Health Benefits
Ghee contains the fat soluble vitamins, vitamin A, D, E and K. Long-chain fatty acids (most animal fats). One tablespoon of ghee contains 14 grams of fats. It has no artificial preservatives & there is no Trans fats. But It's not good If ghee consumed in large quantities. Ghee can be used sparingly, This quantity is suitable for those people who on low-fat-diet & those have the blood pressure, Cholesterol problems and heart problems.
Ghee is used for helps & balance excess stomach acid and also its helps maintain & repair the mucus lining of the stomach. This can be used as a home remedy on mild burn & prevents blisters if applied quickly. It is also promote all three aspects of mental functioning such as and recall learning, memory .
