If you've been in a relationship for a while and are ready to take it to the next step but your girlfriend is not then there are some steps you can take to help get your girlfriend to fall in love with you. There are also some very important things to avoid doing during this process, learn more about how to get your girlfriend to reciprocate those feelings of love for you here.

Perhaps the most crucial thing you do when it comes to getting your girlfriend to move on to that next step, the big 'L' word, is to make a conscious effort. During daily life it is a combination of the little things and day to day interactions that will ultimately stomp out that flame or add fuel to the fire of love.

Because of this you should always be consciously working toward your goal of helping your girlfriend to realize just how much she likes you; that she, in fact, loves you. This includes things such as small gestures of chivalry, opening the door and so forth to small gestures that show you care for her such as flowers and little gifts without an occasion to prompt them. This sort of thing shows that you have strong feelings for your girlfriend and basically that you are constantly thinking about her. Not only will she appreciate these little things, which never hurts but chances are her friends will notice and talk you up to her. The approval of her friends or peers can go a long way towards heightening her feelings for you, especially when her friends constantly tell her how lucky she is.

There is a reverse side to this approach of making a constant effort to get your girlfriend feel about you the way you feel about her and it is equally as important. You should also avoid the little things, from actions to conversations, which will have an adverse affect on your ultimate goal. This includes such things as avoiding arguments to being sure to pick up on subtle hints coming just as much from her tone of voice and body language as what she actually says.

These two approaches combined will show your girlfriend that not only do you love her, without having to put it out there and be the first to say it, but will help her to realize just how special you actually are and that she, in fact, loves you as well.
