HOW to GIVE YOUR CHILDS ROOM an INTERESTING MAKE OVER WITHOUT SPENDING on IT?
Simple and Cost Effective Ways to Give Your Childs Room a New Look
Now, how do you give an old room a new look and that too without burning a hole in your pocket? Just start by taking things one at a time.
First Step: - Don't do this alone; get your child involved in it. Ask him/ her and decide on a theme for the room. It could be a fairy land for girls, a garden, a love zone or for boys it could be a lions den, a jungle, an army bunker etc. Once the theme is decided, head outside the room and shut the door.
Second Step: - The entrance to the room is more than vital. It should give an idea of what to expect inside the room. Forget about it and throw out all those old poster that you have. Now find all the old soft drink cans that you can and pile them up. Cut them in half vertically. Now you can just stick these cans on to the door in any shape that you want. Then just apply a little paper Mache on it and then paint it with colors according to your theme. Creativity has no limit and so have fun with colors and the theme.
Third Step: - If there is any narrow stretch of wall in the room, say in between two doors you can work your magic there too. Have old cards; cut them out and give that wall a new look. If you are good artist paint it like a trunk and then you can paints branches on top. Now add animal stickers, cut outs or anything you like to pep up that area.
Fourth Step: - The corners of each room are normally useless and so think of ways to either make them useful zones or else interesting. You can make wind chimes using old key chains, your old junk jewelry, old Cd's etc and give each corner both some color and music.
Fifth Step: - If your kids' room has a huge wall with no window on it, then go ahead and create one. Just pick up your paints and give it a look that you want. Want to give the kids room a total makeover then you can do this window with a two way theme. Paint on the wall and give it a bright summer green look and then put up a curtain with proper rods. Now instead of just the usual curtains go for a black cloth on which you can paint out some stars and a moon to give it the night look. In the mornings the painted window can be open and at nights it can have the curtain down and your child can enjoy a night's view. Do the stars and moon with radium and give it that glow too.
These simple steps can give your child's room a make over that they can enjoy and at the same time, you can enjoy all the money saved on it.
