How to Give Free Christmas Presents

Recalcitrantem
I knew that I wasn't going to have a lot of money to spend on Christmas this year, so how was I going to get presents for my family? They didn't expect anything big, but I wanted to help fill up under the Christmas tree! It's important to me to have fun at Christmas, and part of the fun is giving presents and being with my family. When I moved into my apartment in July, I decided to start signing up for every free product I could find online to stuff stockings with, and this is what I've ended up with: a box full of mostly-free Christmas presents!

Free Christmas Presents: Stuff!
The items I received as part of free sample offers included trial-sized packages of Tom's of Maine Toothpaste, Garnier Fructis Dandruff Shampoo, Wisk Laundry Detergent, Always and Kotex feminine products, Dove Conditioner, a lotion (I already wrapped it, sorry!), Cotonelle Wipes (I had a coupon to get them for free), a full-sized Oriental Trading calendar, and a free book about Christmas from a group affiliated with Campus Crusade for Christ. I also have a tiny screwdriver from GE that was given as a complimentary item that'll be going to my little brother.

Free Christmas Presents: Stuff I won!
I signed up for Quicken Loans' Thanks a Million Sweepstakes, and my significant other did as well, and we both came away with Xeko plushies, which will become free Christmas presents shortly! Last week, I also got a package in the mail with three lip glosses and a note saying I won a giveaway from Lucky Magazine! How cool is that?

Almost Free Christmas Presents: Toledo Public Library book sale!
This was pure luck - finding out that the Friends of the Library were having a book sale right before Christmas! This was a Christmas present from them to me, and they didn't even know it! Paperbacks 50 cents, hardcovers a dollar! I loaded up on books for lots of members of my family, not to mention myself, and a few quilting magazines and crochet books for my craftier loved ones.

I now have a box, roughly 6"x18" that is full to the brim with free Christmas presents that were almost all free - and the plushies won't fit! They'll be going in my carry-on when I travel home for the holiday. They're not big presents, but they're little things that I can give everyone in my family.
