How to Give the Impression of a Toned Body by Strategically Applying Self-Tanner

Herman Cruz
Why spend the summer at the gym when you can make yourself look like you've been hitting the treadmill and weights on a regular basis just by applying a little self-tanner in specific areas of your body?

To achieve this and finish the project successfully you will need to get a self-tanner that's specific for your skin type, a self-tanner that is one shade darker than your skin color, a friend to help you apply the self-tanner on your back and latex gloves to apply it.

The first step will consist on exfoliating your body with a cream or lotion that exfoliates and doesn't have oil.

Once you get the first step covered you will proceed to apply the self-tanner on your entire body this will be the self-tanner that is the shade that matches your skin type. Make sure to wear your latex gloves, if you don't have the latex gloves wash your hands right after finishing the application process.

To achieve a more realistic looking tan, apply the self-tanner gently and with light pressure when going over your knees, the top of your hands and feet. Also is best if you avoid the elbows, ankles, and between your toes.

After you finish this process, proceed to let the tan dry all the way.

Once the tan has completely dried from the previous application, open the self-tanner that is a shade darker than your skin color (the one you applied in the beginning).

Stand up and point your toe stretching your leg and looking for the calf muscle. Apply the darker shade self-tanner on the areas of your muscle that look darker, what you want to do is accentuate those areas.

Make your saddlebags give the impression of not existing by applying the darker shade self-tanner on your outer thighs.

Also, camouflage any cellulite you may have by rubbing some of the darker self-tanner behind your legs and under your buttocks area.

Tone your belly area by sucking your stomach in and applying the darker self-tanner wherever you see a darker definition.

Pay attention to a tic-tac-toe like pattern that appears around your abs, this will give you a more defined look.

To "build" your biceps flex your arms, Popeye style, to pop out your muscles. Add the darker tanner where the skin seems darker.

To create triceps extend your arm and make a fist, this will flex that area. Again apply the darker tanner where you can spot any definition located on the back of your arms.

Accentuate your cleavage by carefully putting on a push-up bra and also carefully apply the darker tanner in between your breasts forming a triangle shape.

For best results, apply the tanner on your cleavage area in a cool room to keep any body perspiration from interfering with the drying process which is very important to get better results.

It is important that you are meticulous and patient, also avoid over-applying too much of the darker shade tan on the areas mentioned (don't overdo it). If your results are still lacking an artistic visual, you can also visit a salon that has specialists that focus on airbrushing or contour tanning.
