However, prostate massage can also be done regularly as a means of keeping the prostate healthy. The prostate gland can be affected by various health problems. In men aged 19 to 40, the chief concern is prostate inflammation or prostatitis. In men aged 45 and older, the prostate becomes prone to excess enlargement, leading to BPH and even prostate cancer. Prostate massage can be performed regularly as a preventative treatment against such health problems.
Prostate massage generally requires the involvement of two people, as it is difficult and awkward for one person to do it alone. With two people, however, it is a fairly simple procedure. This article will tell you how you can give a prostate massage to your partner.
First of all, discuss the method with your partner and make sure he is comfortable about doing it. Then make sure both of you are physically and mentally relaxed. Ask your partner to perform urination or a bowel movement beforehand if he must. Then clean your own hands and make sure your fingernails are neatly and closely trimmed.
Put on a latex glove and dab a little water-based lubricant on the fingers. Insert your gloved fingers carefully into your partner's rectum. Move them gradually inwards about three inches, in more or less the direction of your partner's navel. Your fingers will touch the prostate gland, which is a bulb of tissue just a little larger than a walnut.
Gently stroke the sides of the prostate gland with a light waving motion. Do not press hard on its center, as that is where some nerves are located. Your partner may feel a sensation of wanting to go to the bathroom, even though he does not have to. Reassure him and help him relax and ignore such sensations.
The main function of the prostate is to produce seminal fluid, and the massage can stimulate the fluid production. Your partner may very well ejaculate or feel an orgasm. But ejaculation does not occur every time, and there is no need to be concerned if it should not happen.
You are cautioned not to perform a prostate massage on anyone who has a prostate disease, such as BPH or cancer. The act of massage may cause the disease to spread to other parts of the body.
