How to Give a Safe Blowjob Without Health Risks
Sex Tips for Girls: How to Give a Guy a Blowjob Safely
The likelyhood of catching an STD from a blowjob is much lower than from sex, but there are several problems and complications, including Herpes, which can be transferred from this sex act. If you are worried, you can use the following methods of protection.
Dental Dam
Dental dams are small, thin, square pieces of latex that can be used for oral sex, as a barrier between your mouth and the man's penis (yes, it isn't very sexy, or practical, but it is safe). DD's come in various sizes and flavours, although the taste isn't always that great!
How to use a Dental Dam for oral sex: Before using the dam rinse off any powder that's on the dam and check it for holes or perforations. Hold the Dam on top of the penis whilst you perform oral sex. If you want to, you can apply a lubricant first to the underside of the Dam so that things feel better on the ma's penis (much better than a dry piece of plastic rubbing on dry skin). Make sure the lubricant is water-based rather than oil-based because this type tends to degrade the latex and decrease the dam's effectiveness.
Caution: Only ever use one side of the dam. Do not turn the dam over because you will expose yourself to the things you are trying to avoid! Do not re-use a dam on another body part either, as you can transfer germs from one body area to another. Use a dam once, and once only.
Condom
Condoms are latex sheaths which cover the man's penis. They come in various flavours, specifically for people to use for oral pleasure, although similarly to dental dams, they don't taste that great!
How to use a Condom for oral sex: Once the man's penis is hard, ask him to put on a condom. Once it is fully over the penis, you can stimulate it orally as you would normally.
Caution: Only ever use a condom once and never turn a condom inside out to re-use it. Once it has been used, ask the man to carefully and sanitarily dispose of it by tying a know in the end and placing it into a waste bin.
STD check-up
If you are really worried about your partner, you can always request that they get checked out at an STD clinic or doctor's surgery. Signed and dated certificates can now be obtained by people getting STD check-ups, and you can ask to see one of these to clarify in your own mind, the health of your partner.
Readers might like to contribute other forms of protection in the messageboard below, as and when they become available to people. The only other form of protection that this writer can think of however, is to pay for another woman to give your man attention, but that MIGHT not be the best way to maintain your relationship!
