Be realistic. If you are reading this and saying to yourself that you never had six pack abs in your life, you can still do things to look and feel better. Start with walking. Try to walk at least 2 miles a day. It seems like a lot, but it's really not. Slowly try jogging for a few minutes at a time and then walking again. Do this until you can run the entire 2 miles. It may take a couple weeks, it may take a year, but running is a great way to get yourself back in shape, or get yourself in shape for the first time.
Hit the abs. If you're going shirtless, the first place your girl is going to look is your abs. With this being the case, spend at least every other day working on your abs. You don't even need a gym. There are plenty of sites online that offer both written workouts as well as instructional videos on how to get rock hard abs.
Eat this, not that. It's a new movement that is catching steam, and it's a great way to still be able to eat out while keeping your calories under control. There are tons of great resources online now that offer the calorie counts of popular fast food chains throughout the United States. Before you go out to eat, take a look at what calorie options your favorite fast food joint has to offer. You will be pleasantly surprised that most time you wont even have to order a salad to stay under your calorie goals.
