Kavu Bamboo
Deforestation is now a huge, global problem. Rather using trees from monitored forests, people around the world continue to abuse lands that don't have sustainable forests. In some areas, those trees will never be able to grow back in the land again. This is not only bad for the environment, but bad for humans too: we need them to eat up the carbon dioxide and release more oxygen for us. Without them, we're losing our air supply, slowly but surely. Bamboo is a great alternative because it is an abundant and prolific material grown all around the world, in even the most adverse conditions. You won't have to worry when you buy materials made of bamboo. Now, while you're helping the environment, you can still look fashionable. Look here to see the types of shirts you can purchase, like this attractive green polo.
Blended and Recycled Materials
Nothing is better for the environment than the reusing of old materials, rather than throwing them back into the earth. For this reason, you want to look for blended or recycled materials, like polyester and organic cotton, in the clothing you purchase. Best of all is that the clothes you normally wear are filled with polyester and cotton, so you're not losing any kind of great materials by going green. In fact, you're basically wearing the same clothes except now, you're helping the environment, too. You can check out an example of this chic clothing with this Nike Eugene Track Jacket.
Spread the Message
How else can you go green and be fashionable than by spreading the message so that everyone else can do the same? By purchasing these types of shirts, you're making a conscientious commitment to saving the planet, and boldly asking for others to do the same. While this T-Shirt is slightly less fashionable than the others, I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a more fashionable one. In fact, the one that I wear sometimes is a black T-shirt with bold, neon green letters on the front and back saying "Go Green." Almost all of the time, these shirts are often made of recycled materials, so you're spreading the message and helping the environment. Two birds with one stone!
