How Golden Shellback's Waterproofing Process Will Change My Life

What is Golden Shellback?
Golden Shellback® claims to make any portable electronic device water resistant. The Golden Shellback solution is way more complex than just throwing a cell phone in a zip-lock baggie, too. Golden Shellback® is a proprietary process of coating sensitive electronics in a anti-corrosion, hydro-impermeable layer. It's all done in a vacuum and promises your device will operate even under water. You can watch several demonstrations including the underwater iPod touch® on NBC's Today Show via this link.

Where did Golden Shellback come from?
Golden Shellback® is the result of the Northeast Maritime Institute's efforts to improve maritime safety. The problem was to increase the survival rate of sailors thrown overboard. Even if they had a radio or GPS locator, the water would render the devices instantly unusable. If only the electronics could be waterproofed. After much research, violà! along comes Golden Shellback®.

How Golden Shellback Will Change My Life
So your not a sailor? Neither am I, but I'm excited about the prospect of how Golden Shellback® will change my life. You see, I have one wish in life. I never want to leave my shower.

I love my shower. I can't start the day without it. Most days, I wish I could transact my entire day from within it's cozy, warm spray. I wouldn't have to go outside and fight the cold or the heat. I'd stay just the right temperature in my lovely, wet, soapy, slippery, snugglie, perfect shower.

I've have the sort of job that lets me telecommute. I can transact half my working life remotely via computer, virtual private network, the internet, and my phone. If only there was some way to move all my electronics into my shower without ruining them. You see where this is going now, don't you? With Golden Shellback® I could waterproof my phones and computers and they could join me in my magnificent shower. Then I could go to work virtually and stay within its steamy confines.

Sure there are other logistics to figure out. Lunch will be a problem. Sandwiches get pretty soggy in the tub. Ordering in might get a little weird. I doubt the delivery dude will want to deliver past the front door. If the people at Golden Shellback® are smart, they'll have a "we don't waterproof web cams" policy in place, too. No one needs to see that.

Cosmo Kramer loved the shower too! He can prepare a whole meal while showering, you rookie!

interesting invention.. love the way you wrote about it... I'd like to stay in the shower too however, when the hot water runs out, I'd have to get out...

Too funny! I could have used that golden shellback stuff last summer. The boyfriend and I capsized in a canoe. Cell phones successfully drowned. In a "waterproof" box from Walmart. Two slightly overweight clumsy people in a skinny cheap canoe. Who's idea was that?

K: natural gas tankless water heaters come very, very close to an endless supply of hot water.

If they could just figure out how to get an endless supply of hot water from the tank, then our lives would be complete...
