How to Make Goliath's S'More Pizza

Adult Desert Pizza

Bubba
I love the old campfire dessert called S'mores. I know that most of the year they are impossible to make because the weather isn't conducive to roasting marshmallows. One dear friend challenged me to make an adult version of these flavors that could be made anytime. After 100s of not so good attempts I have fine tuned this recipe. Somebody put on a fresh pot of Columbian coffee. We are going to roll up our sleeve, take off our rings, wash our hands, and get cooking S'more Pizza... no bonfire needed!

Goliath's S'more Pizza

Ingredients:

pizza dough (Store bought is my favorite) thawed frozen bread dough works well

½ cup slivered almonds

¼ cup butter ( or your favorite fat)

1 sleeve graham crackers crushed (your favorite)

1 teaspoon chili powder

½ teaspoon salt

3-4 cups mini marshmallows (white is best)

3-4 bars dark chocolate (the Queen Goddess claims Dove is best)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 475. Spread crust out on 12 x 15 baking sheet with lip (aka jellyroll pan). Bake 6-7 min or till light brown. While pizza is browning toast almonds in dry skillet (Med-Hi heat) till you can smell them. Remove almonds to a plate and melt butter in same skillet. When butter is completely melted add chili powder and salt stir well then add graham cracker crumbs cook 2-3 min and remove from heat and set aside. When pizza is brown remove from oven and place marshmallows evenly over entire pizza. Break up dark chocolate bars over this. Return to oven for 4-6 min or until marshmallows have puffed up and are brown. Remove from oven and sprinkle graham cracker mixture over top followed by the toasted slivered almonds. Now the hard part... allow to stand 4-5 min before slicing.

Note:

I did try chocolate chips for this. The dark chocolate is much better. The chocolate does mello the flavor of the chili powder so don't be afraid but don't get carried away. I know this is a dessert concept. I feel it should be an appetizer too. "Remember the men & women on the Titanic that skipped dessert!"

OK the recipe is now yours. Change it if you must but make it soon. You deserve a great S'more Pizza today. Please share the link with all your friends. Call your best friend and have a S'more Pizza party. I have never had any leftovers but I have a personal belief this would be great cold for breakfast. Mizpah ;-]]>
