How Goo Gone Cleaner Helped Me Get My New Home Clean

What a Wonderful Product

Since we recently moved into my brand new home, I was faced with a new challange to my cleaning skills. My builder had a very different idea of clean than I do . One of my biggest problems was dried plaster on the window and door frames, dried grout in the corners from the flooring, and paint everywhere. This was despite the fact that my builder had supposedly hired a cleaning crew to go through my house on two separate occasions to clean up the post-construction mess.

Luckily, I had discovered Goo Gone previously, and it really did the trick. I applied it first on a rag to spot test it to make sure it didn't harm the finish of whatever I happened to be cleaning. It removed all of the messy goo and drips with a few wipes without hurting the finish of anything.

Another problem , which was the biggest challenge of all, was the glue that was left behind on my marble floors in their attempt to protect my flooring. The construction superviser ordered that my flooring was to be covered with brown paper to protect it for the last two weeks before our walk-through on closing day. They used blue tape which appeared to be like a painters tape to keep it down on the entire perimeter of my floors. However, when they uncovered my floors, there was a sticky residue everywhere from this tape. Although it was still an exhausting job going around the edges of my entire floor, as well as any place they had seamed the paper together, Goo Gone
made it go much more quickly. Even so, I don't know if my back will ever totally recover!

The mess that the painters left me may have been even worse.. I was finding bits of paint everywhere from every window sill, door, and even the bases of all my beautiful new designer toilets! Even my wonderful new kitchen and bathroom cabinets were marred by this paint.. The black aluminum frames on all of my windows and french doors had paint spots everywhere. Again Goo Gone made what would have been an extremely tedious task a snap to clean.

The directions on the bottle also claim that the product removes blood, asphalt, soap scum, shoe polish, tree sap, kitchen grease, and candle wax. It also claims to remove scuff marks, which I can certainly vouch for on my new marble floors.

I had used this product in the past to remove price stickers from new china and glasses ,make -up from fabric and, gum from everything, a use I learned when my then much younger kids discovered chewing gum! No matter what the mess, Goo Gone has always come to the rescue for me.

With its citrus smell, this product is easy to use. But I still try to use it only in a well-ventilated area since it is made with petroleum distillates. The only negative is the oily residue it leaves on whatever has been cleaned, but that wipes away quickly. But because of this residue, I would not use it on any fabrics. I also wear rubber gloves while using this product

The directions on the bottle warn to keep away from children and not to use near heat, sparks or flames. as would be the case with all cleaning products.

An 8 ounce bottle costs around $4.00, which I consider a bargain considering all of the time and energy it has saved me!

We are now settled in our new home, which I love. But if it weren't for Goo Gone, I would probably still be cleaning up the mess my builder left me!
