So, here's the story, I didn't have any money left in my paypal, and I was searching through domain names and saw that how2freelancer.com was up for grabs. I remembered seeing a site, DomainLagoon, saying they give away free domains by filling out surveys, participating in "free" offers, etc. So, in light of the fact that I not only wanted this domain, but love testing out new internet freebie sites and work from home opportunities, I tested it out.
It's completely free to sign up, and it is a very quick registration process. Once you're signed up, you can log into your Domain Lagoon account and click on "Available Offers."
What I really liked about this "Available Offers" link is that each offer comes with a great description of what exactly it is. Whether or not it requires credit card info (which most don't) exactly what you have to do in order to get credit for the offer, etc.
You get points for each offer you complete, and once you reach a certain amount of points, you cash out and collect your prize. I completed about 8 free offers, requiring no credit card info within 30 minutes and collected my free domain prize. Down side? I had to give the offers my e-mail address, so I got a few junk e-mails, quickly marking them as spam and never had to worry about it again.
Here are the current available free prizes:
1 YEAR DOMAIN REGISTRATION [9.95 pts]One Domain Registered for One Year. The TLDs that we offer are: .com, .net, .biz, .us, .info, .org
1 YEAR DOT INFO DOMAIN REGISTRATION [3.00 pts]We will register you a dot info domain good for one year.
We will ONLY honor DOT INFO REQUESTS via this form. All others will be rejected with points deducted, so please do not try to cheat :-)
2 YEAR DOMAIN REGISTRATION [15.00 pts]One Domain Registered for Two Years. The TLDs that we offer are: .com, .net, .biz, .us, .info, .org
Again, I got the one year .com domain name. Want proof? Here's the Screen Shot of MY FREE DOMAIN NAME!
It's kinda hard to see, I just used print screen on my user page, but you can still see the domain name and everything. I haven't set the site up yet (how2freelancer.com) but I just really wanted that domain... :)
Anyway, you can get your domain name from domain lagoon too, go to DomainLagoon and try it for yourself!
