How to Make a Great Grill Gift for Father's Day

Mary Drew
What to get dad for Father's Day? Well, my kids love to make gifts for their dad on father's day and my husband loves to grill. So why not combine the two for a winning solution? This simple grill gift set is fun for you and the kids to put together. It also allows you and the kids to really customize the gift according to dad's taste.

Things you will need:

Dish Towel

Apron

Long Handled Grilling Utensils

Longer Shaped Bottle of Olive Oil or B.B.Q Sauce

Rubber Band

Decorative Ribbon or String

Scissors

Optional:

Homemade Father's Day Card

Step One: Fold a dish towel in half width wise with any borders at the top. Really let the kids have fun with this and pick something your griller would enjoy, my kids picked the kiss the cook theme.

Step Two: Place a folded up apron on top of the folded in half dish towel so that the apron stick out over the edges of the dish towel a little. You can fold the apron anyway you would like to. Again let the kids be a big part of selecting the gift and have them choose something fun for dad.

Step Three: Place grilling utensils and items on top of the apron. Some ideas for this could be any long shaped bottle of olive oil or B.B.Q sauce and some long handled tongs, basting brushes and spatulas. Arrange them together on top of the folded apron /dish towel so that you can flip the apron over top the utensils to create a pocket.

Step Four: Fold the apron around the arrange utensils and secure it with a rubber band.

Step Five: Wrap the folded dish towel around the secured apron and utensils. Do any adjusting you need to so all the items are visible.

Step Six: With a thick ribbon or string, cut long enough to tie into a bow, wrap around completed assemble and secure it together. Let the kids attach a home card on the ribbon to make it extra special. Dad will love it!

This father's day grill gift is not only good for dad and for father's day but for anyone who loves to grill and for any occasion. It's also a very environment friendly gift by not wasting wrapping paper and making the complete gift, package and all reusable. So go green and give this do it yourself grillers gift a try.
