There are various ways to cook pork chops but during this time of year, it's great to throw just about anything on the grill. However, grilling pork chops can be rather tricky. If not fixed just right, they become tough and dry. Luckily, you don't have to be an expert chef to know how to grill pork chops. With these tips, just about anyone can make sure that their pork chops are a success at their next barbecue.

Less really is more. The less time that food items such as pork are on the grill, the more moist and tender they will be. Regardless, the cook must keep food safety in mind. Foods that are not properly cooked can cause serious illness. This is why it may help to "pre-cook", pork chops before placing them on a grill. Although there are several ways to do this, boiling is usually the preferred method.

While there are different ways to boil the pork, there is a special technique that can help lock in the flavor. Seasoning before putting pork chops in the pot is recommended. What you season with and how you season is totally up to the cook. Some may like to add beer or or wine during the process of boiling. If you choose this method, it generally does not require over one can of beer or cup of wine to the mix. In addition, it is also a good time to add any spices and/or vegetables such as onions or garlic.

Boiling time is not significant. It usually only takes about ten minutes, typically, less. Always check the inside of the pork with a thermometer to make sure it has reached the desired temperature. Do not over boil the pork chops! Any food that is over cooked will not be moist or tender. If the pork chops are ready to come out, do not immediately place them on the grill.

It is always a good idea to wrap the pork chops in aluminum foil, this aids in the prevention of scorching. Vegetables, more seasoning, and/or sauces should also be wrapped with the pork chops, if desired. Since the pork has been thoroughly cooked, it does not need to be on the grill for a prolonged period of time. You simply want to achieve that smoked flavor. Five to ten minutes on each side is about all it takes, and serve! Everyone will be asking for your "secret" recipe.
