How to Grow as a Person

Robb Weigel
It's difficult to become the kind of person we aspire to be since we lack the discipline and focus many of the days of our life. google_protectAndRun("ads_core.google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad);

Step 1) Don't be so emotional. If you have a goal in mind, and you know what it's going to take to achieve that goal, don't get so emotional about the peaks and valleys in the road. Try to stay more even keel this year. The true emotion--elation--will come when you have worked hard and achieved your desired objective. Step 2) Don't listen to your critics--censor the good constructive criticism from the never-do-well criticism of those who bring you down. There will always be those who will try to dissuade you from your dream, tell you that you don't have what it takes, convince you that you can't break that bad habit because you've had it so long--don't listen to them. Be strong even if you're faking it. Hold your own counsel and listen to the counsel of those whom you trust and respect.

Step 3) Hang out with people who will help you grow as a person and not bring you down. This is especially true of those who have repeating cycles of alcoholism, drug abuse, addiction problems--break the cycle. Listen, I know you like and love your friends; however, you sometimes have to destroy friendships for your good.

Step 4) Write articles like this one on ehow, bukisa, associated content, etc. When I'm having a bad day and I'm tempted to let down my guard and wander off the path, writing articles on here and the other sites not only reminds me to be the man I want to be but allows me to help others fullfill their own visions for themselves.
