1. Remember What You Asked For!
The first step to figuring out what the big present of yours is, is remembering everything, yes everything that you asked for for Christmas. This can be a little hard to remember, because over the course of the last few months you've been saying all the different things that you want for Christmas, so this may take a while. If you want to, you could possibly write out a list of things that you asked for, which can make things a little bit easier.
2. Comparing Size
Once you have a list of everything that you asked for, next, you have to compare the items on that list to the shape and size of the gift. Sometimes this can be a tad tricky, but most of the time it is pretty easy to do. But whatever you do, make sure you don't skip this step, as it is a crucial element in determining what your Christmas present is. Make sure you do it proper to, and take into consideration how much size the wrapping might add to the item. Also, be reasonable, as something like a watch, for the most part, is not going to be in a box the size of a refrigerator.
3. Listen To The Sound!
Now that you have compared the size of the box to the size of the items on your list, the next thing to do is to listen to the sound it makes when you shake the box. Sometimes, items are tightly wrapped and will not make sound, and other times there will be many a sound made by the gift. Most people aren't able to guess what their gift is by sound alone, but you get better at it as the years go bye. When doing this though, make sure you remember that electronics are often tightly packaged so that they do not break, so if there is no sound, chances are it's either an electronic device, or clothes, as clothes never seem to make sound.
4. How Much Does It Weigh?
How much does the gift box weigh? This can be crucial when determining what your gift is, as weight plays a big part. If it's a quite heavy box, then chances are it's not a small toy or anything of that sort. Make sure you don't get fooled though, as sometimes people put in weights to throw people off.
5. Make Sure Your Not Being Tricked!
Often adults, although mostly parents, put things in with the wrapping of your present to fool you! Common things to do are a little box inside a big box, noise makers, weights, etc. Most times you can tell when they try to trick you, but sometimes it's quite hard to tell. Oh and there is sometimes one more way they try to trick you. And that is bye getting a big box, stuffing it tight with padding to prevent sound, and in the middle of that big box, is a little note saying where your gift is.
Also, don't think that this is limited to just Christmas presents! These tips will also help with birthday presents, anniversaries, and any other event where there are gifts to be opened!
