E.Tirratino
Store bought father's day cards are convenient and easy to give but they are not very personal. If you want to make dad feel extra special this father's day, make him a card that he will always remember fondly. Here are a few ideas for DIY father's day cards:

Jumbo Finger Paint Father's Day Cards:

You will need:
1 sheet of large, heavy construction paper
different colors of non-toxic washable finger paint
newspaper
sopa, water and towels for clean-up

Have your toddler create their own father's day cards with finger paint. It is a lot of fun to make and will really be a special gift as well as a card for dad. Spread the newspaper out on the floor and lay the construction paper sheet on top of it.. Have your toddler or child dip their fingers and hands (or feet!) in the paint and decorate the sheet however they'd like.

Picture Framed Father's Day Cards:

This father's day card is good for a person of any age to make. Make it elegant and simple for older givers, or colorful and decorated if it is made by children. It consists of a picture of the giver and the father together in a picture framed with a written greeting. If you don't have a picture of both people together, then a picture of the giver alone will do.

You will need:
1 picture with giver and dad together, or one picture with giver alone
1 sheet of plain or colored construction paper for the card
1 sheet of colored construction paper for the frame around the picture
markers, crayons, glitter, or other decorating utensils
glue
scissors

To make the picture frame, simply place the picture on the colorful sheet of construction paper and trace around it. Cut out the center where the picture was traced around. Place the picture with a little glue on the back of it on the sheet of construction paper that will make the body of the card. Take the cut-out picture frame with glue on the back and place it over the picture. Fold the card in half, and write your greeting.

You can also make this card into a memory collage by using many pictures together.

Special Moments Father's Day Cards:

You will need:
1 sheet of construction paper
crayons, pens, pencils, writing & decorating utensils

This father's day card is a very thoughtful one that is ideal for younger children. Have your child think about a special time that they spent with their dad. Then have them draw a picture of it. On the back of the paper you can have them write how much they enjoyed that special time and what it meant to them. You can also laminate the sheet of paper so that dad can put it up wherever he likes.

When it comes to DIY father's day cards, it is the thought and sentiment that goes into making it that makes it forever memorable to dad.
